How I work

A practised method. Visible progress.

Progress should never be based on guesswork.

The method is four disciplines held to one standard: mobilise, progressive overload, targeted nutrition and mentality. It is applied through a clear process, in private sessions, and progress is measured.

The method

What the work actually consists of.

01

Mobilise

The first task is to restore the range and control your body needs in order to train. Mobilisation is not a warmup ritual. It is the condition that makes progressive work possible, and it is coached with the same seriousness as strength.

02

Progressive overload

Strength is built by increasing demand as capacity allows: load, range, density and complexity, advanced with intent. Nothing is added for theatre. The work should be demanding enough to create adaptation, and precise enough to remain safe.

03

Targeted nutrition

Nutrition is written for your body and the week you actually have. Precise enough to change composition and recovery. Flexible enough for restaurants, travel and an irregular diary. There is no performance of restriction.

04

Mentality

Physical change does not survive a week that is poorly thought. Mentality here is not motivation. It is the standard, honesty and consistency required when the diary is full, the travel is constant, and feeling like it is not the point.

The five stages

From first conversation to measured change.

  1. 01

    Understand

We begin with a detailed conversation about your goals, training history, lifestyle, nutrition, previous injuries and any pain or limitations you are currently experiencing. If the enquiry has been made on your behalf, that context is equally useful.

  2. 02

    Assess

I assess how your body moves and responds. This may include posture, mobility, joint function, movement control, strength, body composition and any specific areas relevant to your goals.

  3. 03

    Prioritise

The assessment gives us a clear starting point. We identify what requires immediate attention, what will create the greatest improvement and how mobilisation, loading, nutrition and mentality should work together.

  4. 04

    Coach

The method is then applied in private sessions: mobilise, progressive overload, targeted nutrition and mentality. Technique is developed, demand increases as capacity allows, and rehabilitation is integrated when the body requires it.

  5. 05

    Reassess

Progress is reviewed regularly. We measure what has changed, adapt the programme and establish the next priority. You will always understand what we are working on, and why.

The purpose

What each part of the process is for.

Why we begin with conversation

The first session of work is not an exercise. It is a detailed account of your goals, history, lifestyle, nutrition and any pain or limitations you are currently experiencing. If someone is writing on your behalf, that context is equally useful. Without it, the plan is incomplete.

Why assessment matters

I assess how your body moves and responds so that exercise selection is based on what is actually present. Posture, mobility, joint function, movement control, strength and body composition may all be relevant. The point is not to collect data for its own sake. It is to identify what must be mobilised before it can be loaded.

Why we prioritise

Not everything can be the first problem. The assessment gives us a starting point: what needs attention now, what will create the greatest improvement, and how mobilisation, loading, nutrition and mentality should work together.

Why exercise selection is deliberate

Every exercise earns its place. Technique is coached. Load is appropriate. Demand increases as the body becomes more capable. Progressive overload is built, not hoped for. Nothing is added for theatre.

Why mentality is part of the work

A programme that cannot survive travel, dinners and an irregular diary is not a programme. Mentality here is the standard required when motivation is irrelevant: honesty about what was done, and consistency when the week is full.

Why we reassess

Bodies change. Work, travel, recovery and confidence change with them. Regular review tells us what has improved, what has not and what the next priority should be. You will always understand what we are working on, why it matters and how progress will be measured.
